"I DO WOW!" Where did this come from?
OK, a little background: Years ago, when I first began to deliver digital images via the Internet, I started noticing that when I was on the phone with a client and they were looking at the images I had created for them, I heard them say over and over, "Wow!", or Oh Wow!, or "Oh My!", or "Stunning", or "OMG", or "How did you do this, it's great" or some other equally happy expressions of elevated visual enjoyment. But mostly I heard just a plain, garden variety "WOW!", which is of course very complimentary to my crew and me.
I was invited to teach 3 lighting workshops during a photo festival in Zingst, Germany and I was one of only 3 American photographers invited to share their talents out of 50+ or so other instructors from throughout Europe. The other 2 American photographers were Greg Gorman, a very well known Los Angeles celebrity & portrait photographer, plus Mike Larson, a well known wedding photographer based in San Luis Obispo. We were sitting on the beach at night talking to some of the attendees at the photo festival and Mike asked me "What do you do Steve?" Almost without thinking I replied, "I Do Wow"... I then went on to explain that statement.
